An enviable selection of sandy beaches on your doorstep makes your holiday a dream come true….

The sandy beach of Gialova, only 600 m from Eleonas, invites you to spend hours of tranquil swimming or just relaxing under the cool shade of the trees.
This pretty beach, distinguished by it’s stone paved pier and home for the prettily painted boats of the local fisherman, is in front of the little village of Gialova. It is just the right setting for long evening walks along the edge of the murmuring waves towards the sunset.

The long sandy beach of Divari, 1 km from Eleonas, has been renamed by the locals «Golden beach» in recognition of its beauty and its shallow crystal clear waters. Lying stunningly behind the nature reserve of Divari and spread out at the foot of the hill of Paleokastro (Old Castle) it’s an irresistible temptation during hot summer days. Divari beach separates the Ionian Sea from Gialova lagoon, where the magic mysteries of life can be observed in its saline and brackish waters. This narrow strip of land is home to many species of wild flowers and also home of the rare African Chameleon.

The gorgeous beach of Voidokilia at a distance of 2 km from Eleonas is easily reached by car. Voidokilia is hidden behind sand dunes, which seem to be protecting its secret of magic beauty. Shaped like a giant Greek omega this beach of outstanding beauty lies beneath the Old Frankish castle (Paleokastro) and the cave of King Nestor, the ancient King of Pilos, who according to legend, used this cave as a haven for his cattle. Taking the path up from Voidokilia to the Old castle (Paleokastro) you will enjoy the wonderful panorama that unfolds in front of you: the lagoon of Gialova, the beach of Divari and the olive covered hills across the bay.
From Voidokilia beach you can pass onto the lagoon of Gialova through a natural path to observe the lagoon’s bird life, and the fascinating world of one of Europe’s most important wetlands.
